Area 47 Public Information (PI) Committee Report for March 2021
The Area 47 Public Information “Committee” virtual meeting occurred on Monday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. Since I was the only one in attendance, I used the hour to review conference agenda items.
On Sunday, March 7, I attended a virtual meeting with the P.I. Chairs, from Areas 48, 49 and 50. We discussed ongoing projects and briefly touched on the New York State Fair as a possible cooperative P.I. project some time in the future.
On Friday, March 19, I spoke with Debbie M., from the Finger Lakes Area Intergroup. We discussed placing and tracking A.A. Public Service Announcements and the overlap in coverage between Syracuse/Rochester media and the Finger Lakes region.
I met with Ethan L., District 0340 Public Information Committee Chair, on Monday, March 29. We discussed his two-year plan and ongoing District 340 P.I. projects. I also shared with him the extra P.I. Kit I received from the General Service Office.
The Syracuse GSR Workshop 2021 Day of Sharing Planning Committee has been meeting weekly and I’ve been able to attend most of those meetings providing support for informing Central New York trusted servants about the virtual event scheduled for Saturday, May 22.
I plan to email a brief questionnaire to Area 47 D.C.M.s in the next couple of weeks asking about Public Information committees and projects in and around their districts.
The Area 47 P.I. Committee meets virtually on the third Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. The meeting ID (Zoom) is 889 8055 4956. Please contact me for the password. We meet again on Monday, April 19. Our agenda will include 1) a brief introduction to P.I. Committee work at Area 47 for new attendees, 2) brief reports of ongoing P.I. projects in and around Area 47 from attendees, 3) Development of a P.I. Plan for the remainder of the panel.
