Delegate’s Report to Area Assembly, October 13, 2019
Here’s the news out of the General Service Office from this past month:
- The Grapevine book One Big Tent has been translated into Spanish.
- The annual anonymity letter was distributed by the Public Information desk to 30,000 media professionals around the world. The letter thanks the media for the important part they play in spreading the word about our program, explains why anonymity is so important and requests “If an A.A. member is identified in the media, we ask that you please use first names only and that you not use photographs or electronic images in which members’ faces may be recognized.” It also gives links to additional information.
- The Cooperation with the Professional Community desk sent out information about compiling their preliminary 2020 exhibition list for AA participation at professional conferences. They are trying to be mindful to have ethnic, professional and geographic diversity in the events they participate in, to reach as wide an audience as possible and to connect with under-represented groups. They also said they have some free racks and literature that can be sent to CPC committees who request them. They have 3 kinds available: Generic, Corrections, and Health Care.
